Dual-energy Digital Mammography
Mammography is currently the gold standard for breast cancer screening. The determination of masses and calcifications in mammograms is very important in the early diagnosis of breast cancer. However, the visualization of calcifications could be obscured in mammograms because of overlapping of tissue structures .Dual-Energy Digital Mammography (DEDM) is considered as a prospective technique to improve the calcification detectability. We are working on the physical principle of DEDM, discover the disadvantages of existing algorithm of DEDM and propose new methods. A new calculation frame based on DEDM has been proposed. This frame would generate accurate micro-calcification image using dual-energy calculation and synthetic image similar to conventional mammography images using multi-scale decomposition and synthesis.
